now . shit . i do not know

Someone shared this philosophy of life with me over 25 years ago, so I don’t know who gets the credit. The words read a little like a Japanese haiku (although everyone knows a standard haiku has 17 syllables).

now . shit . i do not know

Do everything in the now. Pay bills, make love, take a walk and eat your asparagus in the now.

The second word, “shit” reminds us that so much of what we think matters does NOT matter!

The last phrase, “I do not know” keeps us from having a congealed thinking mind that imagines it has Life all figured out, leaving no more room for surprise.
